Painted February 2021. 16″x12″. Acrylic on Canvas. $150.00 Canadian Unframed.
Lots of horses this time. This is a small study for a bigger painting I’ve been thinking about for a while. Overall, I was pretty happy with what was a very complex subject matter. I can tell instantly if a horses features are out of place. Since this is primarily a painting of horses heads, it gave me lots of time to get a handle on those features. What I’m not so pleased about is the palette. I think the tonal quality of the painting is OK, but the colours are too pastel (probably because I was using titanium white to lighten the tone). I keep getting a Florida suburb vibe with these colours, which is not what I intended at all.
